Triumph Truth
Christians must put on the whole armor of God to stand firm against the world’s wickedness and the Devil’s deceits. God's Word is our greatest weapon against sin. Psalm 119:11 says, "Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You".

One year at Bible Camp, a terrible experiment of boys against girls was attempted. As one could easily guess, the boys had a good advantage as displayed on the game field. The boys walked off the field victorious with a large margin every game but one. The boys acted like they owned the week and won it in their mind without a shadow of a doubt. Nevertheless, the girls had one hope and that was Bible memory verses! Memory Verses were worth a lot; however, the girls knew they had their work cut out for them. My cabin gave its best. Two girls quoted over 100 verses in my room, and the rest of us did as many as we could. For the Friday evening rally revealing the week’s winner, the boys marched in victorious as us girls walked in soberly. The boys celebrated their numerous wins while we clung to the hope hidden in our hearts. Finally, it was time for the last category…Scripture Memory. Our faith seemed weak as the boys' mocking came to mind echoing, “We won big in the games, so the girls cannot beat us even with verses!”. The truth of the matter is “The grass withers, the flower fades, the word of our God stands forever” (Isaiah 40:8), and Bible verses did not fail us. The boys were soon mortified when they saw the girl’s massive number of points from Bible memory verses, which took the win for the week.
More importantly, Scripture still stands as a powerful weapon to win against spiritual warfare. Christians must put on the whole armor of God to stand firm against the world’s wickedness and the Devil’s deceits (Eph. 6:10-17). The Bible calls the Sword of the Spirit is necessary piece of the armor of God and is described being more powerful than a double-edged sword. Satan's army cannot stand a chance against the power of God’s Word and our Risen Savior!
"For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12
Although it seems like the right is losing and wrong is winning, Scripture reminds us that God is in control and Jesus will be victorious in the end. In the meantime, Believers should seek to live a victorious life in Christ. No matter the trial or temptation, God’s Word gives the comfort and strength needed to live victoriously. 1 Cor. 10:13 says, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”. This was one of the special verses I learned at Bible camp and has been a mighty weapon against temptation. No matter what the test, I can say this verse to encourage me to do right. Although winning the week at camp was amazing, the battle against sin is more important to win. We cannot defeat sin alone, but God Word guides His children to stay on track. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 declares that “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” This precious promise declares that God has given us everything we need to live a godly life. God’s Word teaches us what is right, points out our mistakes, and shows us how to get right with God. Victorious Christians must daily spend time memorizing and meditating on God’s Word. How faithful does your Heavenly Father find you in your devotion to Him?
